You may have noticed a schizoish comings and goings of assorted videos and images on bonebikebird lately. I have decided to keep all video and audio content on my new and more casual tumblr blog, serving as a repository for news, views, random ideas, thoughts, obsessions and expressions. This page will remain the main go to for my photography, image musings, color collections and inspired outbursts. Both remain a work in progress which is really the beauty of this medium to begin with, right!?

The last scud of day holds back for me,
It flings my likeness after the rest and true as any on the shadow'd wilds,
It coaxes me to the vapor and the dusk.

I depart as air, I shake my white locks at the runaway sun,
I effuse my flesh in eddies, and drift in lacy jags.

I bequeath myself to the dirt to grow from the grass I love,
If you want me again look for me under you boot-soles.

You will hardly know who I am or what I mean,
But I shall be good health to you nevertheless,
And filter and fibre your blood.

Failing to fetch me at first keep encouraged,
Missing me one place search another,
I stop somewhere waiting for you.

I have been feeling the beauty of this season very intensely lately. Perhaps it is my new found exploring freedom, a freedom which is, in fact, tailor made for searching out moods and colors. Perhaps it's the rich nostalgic shades of autumn, my favorite season, as faded greens turn lusty gold and reds burn bright and vivid. There is a stillness in the air, a stillness that can be described as all at once frenetic and deeply patient.

The photos above are of the Hendrickson's property in Bridgehampton. Hendrickson's Bike Repair has long since been shut down, but back in the day when we were but wee ones, my mother used to bring us here to get our bikes fixed.
So the picture quality here is not very good, but I think the expression on Breuer's face as he eyes his disheveled devotees makes up for it.  What I wouldn't give to be a part of that line up.  Erich Consemüller, Marcel Breuer accompanied by his "harem" (l-r: Martha Erps, Katt Both, Ruth Hollos). 1927

While bopping around West Soho this past weekend shopping for my new and awesome job I stumbled upon a little shop called Palmer Trading Company.  All at once familiar and homey feeling, this tiny store packs the best of the best of old and new urban woodsman gear, vintage accessories, furniture and carefully edited ephemera. I for one love me some urban woodsman style, all the more if it doesn't come straight off a J. Crew rack and immediately fell for a leather duffel made by PTC's very own Uncle Herb in Western Massachusetts.  PTC's eponymous accessories brand stands out in the store as beautifully made, reasonably priced and made with pride right here in good 'ole New England.  I'll let Palmer Trading Company's blog do the rest of the talking.  Thank you David for your gracious hospitality and my apologies to Shorty, whom I buried in bags before realizing you were, um... very much alive.
